It is with heavy hearts that Dannis Woliver Kelley shares the news of Loren Andrew Carjulia and Ingrid Alise Meyer’s passing. We extend our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved them. We honor their memory by continuing to uphold the mission they so deeply believed in – supporting and strengthening public education.
Loren Andrew Carjulia
For more than four decades, Loren practiced law with thoughtfulness and principle. His distinguished career spanned education law and public service – marked by more than 35 years of collaboration with Sandra Woliver and, for the past 14 years, as a trusted member of DWK. Loren contributed greatly to our Labor, Employment and Personnel Group and the Student Group, offering expertise in complex workplace issues, constitutional matters and student discipline. His work touched the lives of countless students, educators, and administrators, and his dedicated counsel guided many through challenging times with fairness and compassion.
Loren lived a life defined by service, integrity, and warmth. Colleagues who had the privilege of working with Loren remember him as a gentle soul – kind, generous, and easy to be around. His good humor and affable nature brought light to even the most demanding moments. He was a steady and thoughtful presence, admired not only for his legal acumen but for the humanity he brought to every interaction. He was not only dedicated to his practice, but to his family and friends.
Loren’s legacy endures in the care he brought to his work, the mentorship he offered to colleagues, and the culture of excellence and compassion he helped build within our firm. We will remember his calm presence, his steadfast integrity, and the many ways he made a positive difference for those he worked with and served.
Ingrid Alise Meyers
Ingrid joined DWK in 2007 as an experienced litigator in the Labor, Employment, and Personnel Group. Over the years, she quickly became one of the firm’s leading attorneys in complex labor and employment matters, including public employee discipline and layoffs. She earned a statewide reputation as a remarkably effective teacher dismissal attorney, skillfully leading some of our most challenging and important cases.
In addition to her appearances before the Office of Administrative Hearings, Ingrid represented clients before the Public Employment Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Civil Rights Department. She also generously shared her deep knowledge through training for both clients and colleagues. Ingrid’s expertise, insight, and steady, thoughtful guidance will be profoundly missed. Clients valued her creativity, good nature, and principled toughness.
Ingrid leaves behind a legacy of excellence, kindness, and quiet strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Those who knew Ingrid well will remember her sharp intellect, dry wit, and ability to make you laugh out loud with a perfectly timed quip. She was not only deeply dedicated to her craft but was equally devoted to her family and friends.
