The firm’s administrative leadership includes the following:

David S. Chi is Chief Operations Officer of the firm and is located in the San Francisco office. He has over 25 years of experience in the legal industry and more than 12 years in law firm administration and operations management. Mr. Chi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Davis and a Master of Business Administration degree from San Francisco State University. Mr. Chi is a member of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.
Nancy Kumamoto is Director of Client Relations and Creative Services of the firm and is located in the San Francisco office. She has over 15 years of experience in the legal industry and has served in various marketing and business development, web and graphic design, and corporate communications roles with a number of AmLaw 50 law firms. Ms. Kumamoto earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the Legal Marketing Association and the University of Southern California Alumni Association where she served on the board of both associations for several years.
Crystal L. Evers is Controller of the firm and is located in the San Francisco office. She has 25+ years of accounting experience, including 15 years with DWK. Ms. Evers earned her Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration and an accounting certificate from University of California, Los Angeles Extension. She is a Board Member of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.
Tami Mittelstaedt is Director of Billing and Collections of the firm and is located in the San Francisco Office. She has over 18 years of experience in legal billing and collections. Prior to joining DWK, Ms. Mittelstaedt was the Director of Billing & Collections at an AmLaw 50 law firm. She received her BS in International Business from Marymount College and her MBA from St. Mary’s College of California.
Jill Nefkens is Director of Human Resources for the firm, as well as Office Manager of the firm’s Long Beach office. She has more than 15 years of experience in all areas of Human Resources management and more than 10 years of experience in the legal industry. Ms. Nefkens earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at San Diego.  Ms. Nefkens also serves on the Human Resources Advisory Board for CSULB’s College of Business Administration and chairs the board’s Career Development Committee.
Tom H. Choi is Director of Information Technology of the firm and is located in the Long Beach office. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT management, solution architecture, system administration, and client computing. He has a diverse background managing and supporting IT for law firms and Fortune 500 companies including Hewlett-Packard, Compaq Computers and Tandem Computers. Mr. Choi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from San Jose State University.
Janice R. Karr is Office Manager of the firm’s San Diego office. She has more than 25 years experience in law firm administration, including nearly ten years with DWK. She has a wealth of experience working in education law, and event coordination and planning. Ms. Karr is also an avid parent volunteer at two schools in the Poway Unified School District and a member of Volunteer San Diego.
Daniel Alvarado is the Office Manager of the firm’s San Francisco, Sacramento and San Luis Obispo offices. He has 15 years of experience as a law firm professional managing numerous firm departments including information technology, human resources, accounting and general management of firm staff. He also has extensive IT knowledge and experience in a law firm environment. Mr. Alvarado earned a Bachelor of Science degree from San Francisco State University.
