This presentation will provide a practical overview of charter school litigation, focusing on standards of review, writ proceedings and administrative records, attorney’s fee exposure, and the factors authorizers should understand when weighing the risks and benefits of pursuing or defending litigation.

This session will look back at key charter reform measures and the history leading up to the recent AB 126 changes, followed by a discussion of authorizer oversight obligations and the new AB 126 requirements, with a focus on what is currently in effect.
