Litigation Attorney

Mid-sized education law firm with statewide practice representing school and community college districts seeks an attorney to join its Litigation practice group.  If you are interested in joining a team that works on landmark cases benefiting students across California, we encourage you to apply.

Candidates will be considered for the following DWK offices: San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego, Sacramento, East Bay, Fresno

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of twelve years of litigation experience, including the below qualifications:

  1. Experience handling complex civil litigation matters from initiation to resolution including arbitration, mediation and/or trials
  2. Strong case management skills, including ability and initiative to lead matters, manage deadlines and move matters forward
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  4. Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
  5. Excellent leadership skills
  6. Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities
  7. Education law experience and/or public entity experience
  8. Prior experience with civil rights, special education, insurance defense or personal injury defense preferred
  9. Admission to the California State Bar

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with both California’s Fair Chance Act (FCA) and local Fair Chance Ordinances (FCOs).

 

The annual salary range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $175,000 to $210,000.  The final annual salary offered will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  In addition to the offered salary, our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) with matching and profit-sharing options; sick and vacation time, along with paid holidays.  We offer additional voluntary benefits designed to meet your individual needs.
