Education Law Attorney

Mid-sized education law firm with statewide practice representing school and community college districts seeks an associate to join its Students and Special Education Practice Group.  If you are interested in being part of a team that supports the education of students in California, we encourage you to apply.

Candidates will be considered for the following DWK offices: Long Beach or San Diego (Hybrid)

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of legal experience, including the below qualifications:

  • Litigation and/or administrative process experience, including handling discovery and preparing pleadings; experience in mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials a plus
  • Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
  • Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities, including administrative hearings litigation
  • Education law experience and/or public entity experience preferred
  • Admission to the California State Bar

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with both California’s Fair Chance Act (FCA) and local Fair Chance Ordinances (FCOs).

 

The annual salary range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $135,000 to $175,000.  The final annual salary offered will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  In addition to the offered salary, our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) with matching and profit-sharing options; sick and vacation time, along with paid holidays.  We offer additional voluntary benefits designed to meet your individual needs.
