Mid-sized education law firm with statewide practice representing school and community college districts seeks an attorney to join its Business, Property and Construction Law Practice Group.
Candidates will be considered for the following DWK offices (Hybrid): San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego, Sacramento, East Bay, Fresno
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience, including the below qualifications:
- Public procurement and contract negotiation experience
- Experience with and/or a willingness to learn bid packages and procurement documents, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of types of contracts, such as construction contracts, special services agreements, contracts for equipment, materials, and supplies, and agreements for professional services, such as design professionals and construction management services
- Familiarity with bid protests, requests for substitution, stop payment notice claims, change orders, delay and cost overrun claims, payment bond issues, contract termination, and payment disputes
- Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
- Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to learn about and work on a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated success working as a team player in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work independently
- Litigation experience or willingness to work on litigation matters is a plus
- Public entity representation is preferred but not required
- Admission to the California State Bar

The annual salary range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $140,000 to $185,000. The final annual salary offered will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
