Suvarna Bhopale is an Associate in the firm’s Board Ethics, Transparency and Accountability (BETA) and Litigation Practice Groups in the San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on governance issues, elections, and representing school districts in a variety of litigation matters. Suvarna also works with school districts on questions surrounding the open meeting requirements of the Brown Act and handling public record requests under the California Public Records Act. Prior to her work with public entities, Suvarna represented clients in federal election law matters, tort and contract disputes, as well as white collar crime litigation. She also served as a School Board Trustee for nine years and has volunteered as a Coach for Mock Trial students for over a decade.
