Deidree Y.M.K. Sakai is a Shareholder in the San Francisco office, and head of the Construction Practice Group.  She is also a member of the Business, Property and Finance, and Litigation Practice Groups.  Deidree has represented school districts and community college districts on various construction matters including bid protests, stop payment notice actions, construction defect, and delay claims.  She has prepared and negotiated construction contracts for consultants and contractors for a variety of project delivery methods as well as energy service contracts.  She also advises districts on a variety of real property and business matters.  She has litigated diverse construction matters in state and federal courts in California, Hawaii and Nevada.

Deidree has presented several CLE seminars and roundtables at annual conferences for Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH), California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO), and California School Boards Association (CSBA) on issues such as project delivery methods, construction claims and record keeping, bidding, contractor prequalification, prevailing wage and labor compliance for public works contracts, California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act, procurement and purchasing.
