“Mini-Toolkit” Released by Fix School Discipline

Oct 31, 2018 | Legal Developments and News

The non-profit organization Fix School Discipline continues its policy work to reduce what they call “harsh, push-out discipline practices” with positive and productive alternatives. The Mini-Toolkit aims to change discipline practices from all angles, including by way of encouraging educators and students create an action plans and challenge existing practices the non-profit was initiated to address.

The toolkit is released on the heels of an updated report from August 2018 that analyzed data from recent school years on discipline trends, finding improvement but pushing for more. Click here to read DWK’s newsflash on the August 2018 report.

The full toolkit provides exercises as well as a deeper look into the underlying issues surrounding discipline in schools and its disproportionate use and impact particularly on student groups. For more information, please visit the Fix School Discipline website.

Additionally, if you have any questions about discipline in schools, and handling challenges to current practice, please contact a DWK attorney.
