David A. Obrand is an Associate in the firm’s Long Beach office and is a member of the Litigation practice group. He has experience representing California school districts in all aspects of litigation, including special education, employment law, constitutional claims, facilities and construction, personal injury, contract disputes, public records requests, and appeals. Prior to joining DWK, David also practiced civil defense litigation with a focus on professional liability and malpractice defense.
While in law school at University of Arizona – James E. Rogers College of Law, David was a member of the first place team for the American College of Bankruptcy – Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Negotiation Competition and received multiple scholarships, including the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the Fennemore Craig/Cal Udall Scholarship for Promoting Diversity. He also externed for the Honorable Cindy K. Jorgenson in the U.S. District Court in Tucson, Arizona. Immediately after he passed the California Bar Exam, David served as a volunteer attorney for the Orange County Department of Education.
