Calvin Yang is an Associate in the Long Beach office and a member of the Students and Special Education practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Calvin worked at several law firms specializing in education law. He has extensive experience providing guidance to clients on special education matters covered by the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related California laws and regulations. He also regularly assists with IEP meetings, resolution sessions, mediations, and due process hearings. Calvin also has experience assisting school districts with student discipline, charter school, and personnel matters.
During his time at the University of San Diego School of Law, Calvin received an Outstanding Special Education Intern Award and a Pro Bono Service Award for his contributions to his school’s Special Education Legal Clinic, where he represented low-income parents of children with special needs. He holds a B.A. in economics and psychology from the University of California, San Diego.
