Dannis Woliver Kelley Welcomes Leading Education Law Attorney Keith Bray

Jun 1, 2017 | Press Releases

San Francisco, CA—Dannis Woliver Kelley, California’s premier education law firm, is pleased to announce that Keith Bray will join the firm in July as Of Counsel in its Sacramento office. Keith has served as General Counsel to California School Boards Association (CSBA) and Director of the Education Legal Alliance since 2011. He brings with him incredible experience and depth in board governance matters, and will be a member of the firm’s Labor, Employment and Personnel; Board Ethics, Transparency and Accountability; Charter Schools; and Litigation practices.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Keith to the firm,” said DWK managing shareholder Mark Kelley. “His statewide reputation as an outstanding advocate for school districts and county offices of education, with an unparalleled understanding of issues that matter to our client base, will be a great addition to our team of education lawyers. Keith provides unique credentials and experience, and we know he will be a great fit.”

Prior to joining CSBA, Keith was an education law attorney for over 20 years, working with two major Sacramento law firms. He also has served as General Counsel for the Placer County Office of Education. “Several DWK attorneys have had the pleasure of working with Keith throughout the years so this is a natural fit,” said Candace Bandoian, incoming DWK managing shareholder. “The breadth of his knowledge and caliber of experience will help DWK’s mission in providing strategic and thoughtful legal counsel to school districts, county offices of education and community college districts throughout the state.”

Keith’s arrival follows the elevation to Equity Shareholder of San Diego attorney Sarah Sutherland; and elevation to Shareholder of Sacramento attorneys Chris Keiner, Roman Muñoz, and Marie Nakamura, as well as Jessika Johnson in our San Francisco office.

Keith noted, “I am excited about joining the talented group of attorneys at DWK, many of whom I have had the pleasure of working with for many years. CSBA has been a great combination of law, policy and politics that has added shape and substance to my practice that I look forward to sharing with the firm’s clients on a daily basis.”

Keith earned his J.D. from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and his B.A. in economics and psychology from California State University, Chico.
