Jennifer Choi is an Associate in the East Bay office and a member of the firm’s Student and Special Education, Charter Schools, and Litigation practice groups. She advises school districts on all aspects of special education, and represents clients in IEP meetings, mediation, and due process hearings. She also assists school districts with UCP complaints, school discipline, and a variety of student issues.
In law school, Jennifer served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Philip S. Gutierrez in the Central District of California. She has also served as a legal extern at Los Angeles Unified School District’s Office of the General Counsel. Prior to her legal career, Jennifer was a teacher at Achievement First Brownsville in Brooklyn, New York, where she was a founding second and fourth grade teacher. Her experience in the classroom and building out new grade-wide systems and programs informs her practice as an educational lawyer. Jennifer is focused on finding solutions to her client’s problems that serve their ultimate mission; to serve and educate students.
